Review content:
The workers were GREAT! They were quick, polite, and very professional. My only complaint is when we got the estimate, the gentlemen didn't pull back any of the siding. So, when the workers came, they found out we had no water protection against the house. So, that added a lot to the cost and the decision had to be made right then. It would have been nice to know in advance to budget the cost and to be able to have a discussion with my husband before needing to make a split second decision.
RESPONSE FROM The Roofing and Remodeling Company:
The existing siding on the home is aluminum and can become bent easily when manipulated. During the evaluation process of the estimate it was determined the source of the leak was caused by poor workmanship from the contractor who installed the existing roof. The existing step flashing was nailed to the roof by the previous contractor prior to his installation of the shingles, by nailing down the step flashing before the shingle installation the step flashing forms a L flashing. The proper installation of step flashing is for the flashing to be installed between each course of shingles. The incorrect installation of the step flashing was the source of the leak. When the foreman began removing the siding the lack of weather barrier was noticed. Although our goal is to be as thorough as possible during the examination process, we can not risk damaging the clients property by pulling back aluminum and risking bending it. We strive for 100 customer satisfaction and regret Sanci's frustration in this unavoidable circumstance.
