Review content:
I placed a $150.00 deposit down on a move, which consisted of a 8 piece BD set plus 10 boxes to NC. Was given a do not exceed estimate of $759.30. The pickup was scheduled on 4/28/13 and the delivery was 5/2/13. Before pick up I sent $380 to pay for first half payment up front. After the Econo Van lines picked up my belongings they changed the delivery date because my load was so small they needed to transport it with another load. Afterwards I was told they needed to weigh my load because there was additional items such as a dressor and airmoire and boxes. He said I didnt state that my bed room set would consist of a dressor and airmoire, even though it was listed on their inventory in my estimate. He said they would weigh the items and charge me $.99 per pound. Econo called me back and stated I had 1800lbs worth of furniture on the truck and my new total was $1561.03. I wanted to pick up my belongs and they were going to charge me $915.00, said they worked 6 hours because they charge from the time the movers leave the office until the time they return. They had my belongs for two weeks and refused to release them. During that time I contacted the Attorney Generals office, consumer complaint, and various other agencies plus I sent a very detail email to the company with my dissatisfaction. Eventually, Econo called and said they did not want any problems and delivered my items -two weeks later, at 9pm at night-when they were suppose to arrive at 4pm. The movers were nice but they were not helpful. They were suppose to assemble my furniture but said they could not because they did not disassemble. We began to look for screws and they were missing. I immediately called my mother because the value city guys placed they screws in a ziplock bag and placed in the second drawer of my side table. So now I am unable to put my bedroom set together! This is ridiculous! THese guys are scammers. The spokeman John Atanosov was very shady. He spent most of his time talking over top of me. Beware they have shady dealings. If you work with them check your paper work, they will allow people to sign on your behalf and stick you with it. To top it off they sent me a scale ticket with the weight...and guess what??? It wasn't even my scale ticket. Beware! Beware! Beware!
