In 2008 we purchased our dream home in Weston, CT which was constructed by a builder who claimed to be an expert in green building and geothermal technology. The home came with 4 Earthlinked Geothermal Systems for HVAC and hot water. Almost immediately upon moving in, the main 6 ton unit failed. The builder contacted a local Earthlinked installer who replaced the compressor. The unit however continued to have problems, freezing up in a/c mode. The aforementioned installer abandoned us after several months with no explanation. We then contacted Earthlinked's regional sales representative and he referred us to someone he described as "Connecticut's best Earthlinked Installer". This individual continued to work on the system for the next year and half, taking over $25,0000 of our money, only to leave us in the snowy January of 2011 with a poorly functioning 6 ton unit and a broken, non-operational 3 ton unit. It then was revealed to us by the builder that the ground loops were all placed in close proximity in the same trench. No one, not the home builder, not any Connecticut Earthlinked installer, nor the regional Earthlinked Sales representative or Earthlinked Systems Inc. in Florida themselves offered to help us remedy the bad install or simply make any suggestions other than "tough luck!" That was until we came across Harry Morgan of Comfort Tech. Harry came all the way from Pennsylvania to our home in Connecticut to consult with us even before we had a contract with him. He spent an entire day viewing our failed systems and reviewing paper work from the unscrupulous Connecticut geothermal installer. He then provided us with a detailed contract which he stuck to for the entire job. He spent over a month supervising the drilling of 16 new geothermal wells, the placement of new loops, and personally reinstalling all four systems. We purchased a new three ton unit to replace the one killed by "Connecticut's best installer" and Harry was able to get Earthlinked to replace the 6 ton unit. When he left our home a month later, all four systems (the three heating/cooling systems and a domestic hot water system) were up and running. Not only did he repair the systems but he showed us that the previous systems had never really worked at all; In fact all they were doing were racking up huge electric bills. Harry's excellent work was reflected in the last two electric bills where charges have dropped significantly. If we had not seen Harry's website and contacted him, we would still be in the serious mess we were in three months ago.
