Review content:
Horrible experience! This is the first review I have ever taken the time to write but my experience with Neering was so bad I felt obligated to take the time to register with Citysearch and save others the brain damage. I have several rental units that I manage and so I regularly use heating and plumbing service providers. This week I had a problem with a water heater and as my regular tech was booked I decided to give Neering a try. I won't ever make that mistake again. The tech spent a total of 45 minutes on the job. 15 of those minutes were spent by the tech browsing a pricing catalog to decide what to charge. The problem turned out simply to be an issue of airflow to the pilot light and the need to clean lint out of the air supply. There were no parts required. The total charge was $355. The service manager had indicated that the $85 diagnostic fee would be applied against the repair charges but when it came time to run my card the tech refused to do so. When I called Mike the service manager back to ask about the exorbitant pricing and the unwillingness to offset the diagnostic fee he explained that ""Neering has 75 years of overhead and experience and that they must charge all customers their fair-share of those costs regardless of what services were rendered or time was spent."" Unbelievable. Don't waste your time or money as Neering seems practiced and ambivalent about taking every advantage of the customer.
