Our experience with Schmidt Custom Floors, Inc. was awesome. They did a fantastic job using a unique product you can't get any place else. I don't know of any other companies with an extensive collection or who has the ability to do all that custom high end work we wanted.
They installed long planks of rustic, knotty, natural-looking engineered walnut flooring for us. It's against a rich white background and looks fantastic.
They are the only ones with a real showroom where they display exotic products such as the hand scraping technique for wood floors that they do. We actually went to the restaurant Rumpus Room where they had installed a light herringbone floor for them. We didn't go there to eat, we just went to look at it, to get the idea of an oiled floor.
The young man Austin who put in the floors for us was one of the sons and he was just a super guy. He was one of those guys who you meet and within those first 5 minutes you know will do a good job.
