Review content:
Ok, so i've been eating at Saigon Grill since they opened. My favorites are the Bun Vermicelli noodle bowls and the salad rolls, and also the salads. The bad, is the service. The owner I believe wants to create an upscale environment for his restaurant, but needs a lesson in decorating. Imagine high end tacky and that pretty much describes it. The service can be terrible, to just okay. If this place could match the great food with good service and a pleasant dining room, the place would go from a hot lunch spot to an evening destination. As it stands now, you might be sharing the restaurant with 2 or 3 other diners in the evening, which is sad because the food is fabulous. All the pieces are in place, from gourmet coffee drinks to wines and gourmet desserts. However, they need to hire a barista who knows how to make great coffee, buy better quality coffee, and charge less for their wine... $6 -8 a glass in this tackily decorated restaurant is ridiculous. Also, hire someone who speaks English proficiently to serve.. if you ask the wait staff a question, often times they look at you like you're speaking cat or something. The food prices are on the high side, but I'm content with it because of the quality of the food. Even if they don't redecorate, training the servers to actually serve customers like western style restaurants, would bring in more business!! I give Saigon Grill 3 stars because and only because of the quality of the food. I hope the owner reads this! And as the other review noted, Pho Tango is taking away business.. when I feel like Vietnamese food, with great service and a soothing dining environment, I go see Amy! Amy used to own Amy's burger shack and now owns Pho Tango.. and she has done a fabulous job! The beef at Pho Tango is to die for. Come on Saigon Grill, I wish you could visit Pho Tango and learn a thing or two.. Pros: great salad rolls, vermicelli noodle bowls Cons: Service
