Review content:
Nine months to one year ago I would have given Jade Palace at least a four star but my friend and I went there today (may 2nd 2012) and now I have to give it a one star. My friend and I were the only ones there and they are clearly trying to stay afloat. The food was hot but the almond chicken I ordered was dry and not as good as it has been in the past. What really threw me over the edge was when I asked the waitress for a bit of sweet and sour sauce for the egg roll at $2.50 I ordered. She came back with about an ounce of it saying nothing. When I got my bill a $1.50 had been added. I asked why there was extra charge, the woman at the register said it was for the sweet and sour sauce pointing to a small sign next to the register. (there was not sign at the table or on the menu for these many extra charges. At the local Asian market you can buy and large bottle for $2.00) Then she said it was a charge for the gravy for the almond chicken. I find it hard to believe that they would charge 1.50 for sweet and sour or for the topping of the entree when the topping makes it what was ordered. I paid my bill and I will not be back. This may be why my friend and I were the only people there.
