Review content:
I don't usually join organizations like Citysearch or spend time actually commenting about a company; but the over-the-top criticism I saw of Durst on this site compels me to write. That review illustrates how two people, one bad employee and one out-of-control complainer can trash a company's reputation -- totally unfairly.
Here's my take on Durst:
In the 30 plus years I have lived in Berkley, I have gone to Durst more times than I can count, frequently with problems and questions. In every situation I can recall, the person I asked for help, treated every question, even the dumb ones, with courtesy and respect, presented me with whatever options were appropriate for my particular need; and, when required, walked with me to the spot where I could find what I needed. I got the same treatment when my needs included a trip to the lumber yard. What I find particularly satisfying is the fact that the employees I have never seen before and, presumably are new, show the same knowledge and respect as the older hands.
Durst is one fine organization and I am grateful for its long presence in our town.
Pros: knowledgable, helpful people, good prices
Cons: some prices are a bit higher than home depot's
