Review content:
I have very mixed feelings about the school. Ms. Christy, the director, is wonderful; unfortunately she rarely teaches. Some of the other teachers are great, some are incompetent (especially for the younger kids). One in particular is passive aggressive and a bit of a bully; fine for competitions and older kids, awful for those under age 7. 5 years olds shouldn't be made to feel bad because they don't want their ears pierced to match an instructor's ""vision"" for the group picture. Perhaps the teacher doesn't understand how deeply kids take that kind of criticism in their need for approval from authority. This one teacher made my daughter want to discontinue dance entirely and she used to love it. Be WARY of who your teachers are. Also, the recitals are spectacular and a great experience, but a few of the costumes are, well, slutty... especially for the younger kids. I think some of the more status-oriented teachers need better understanding as to what is an isn't right for young children.
