Review content:
When we moved to Great Neck from Manhattan we were told by numerous people to try the sushi at Daruma. Now maybe we were spoiled after having some of the best sushi spots to pick from in the city, but the bottom line with this place is that the decor wasn't the only thing that was dated. The sushi tasted like it had been left over from the day before and just generally was unappealing and unappetizing. The edamame, which we tend to use as a litmus test to validate the quality of a good sushi restaurant (much like fresh hot bread at an Italian restaurant) was cold, bland and just plain inedible.\r \r If you want really good sushi, exceptional service, and a more authentic spot for sushi in Great Neck make sure you check out Blue Fin...a little further North on Middle Neck Road. We discovered it by chance (it is outside of the main Great Neck shopping district), but are in love....hands down the best in town.\r \r \r
