Review content:
I grew up in a very religious church that preached the bible word for word and was very judgemental so to say I was guarded when I first started attending Southlake is an understatement (sat by the door and didn't close my eyes to pray LOL.) Most people were very nice and inviting. No community of people in society or in church is perfect as a whole or individuals but most people here were great and still are. Nobody is perfect and that's fine with them. I'm GLAD tattoos, divorce, or the way any individual votes are not things someone is judged by here! I'm very glad that the weekly positive message refers to the bible but is mostly a practical USEFUL message for the rest of the week. A pastor there once said something I found helpful for understanding the church, ""We want to be a hospital for sinners not a hotel for saints."" It makes me feel invited to come as I am, that my relationship with God matters more than my relationship/position in a church. A blessing.
