I took my fiance to a very expensive lunch for his birthday. Being only a party of two and during the slow lunch time, the food was great and what I've come to expect from the restaurant. However this particular day the waitress was adequate, was not completely attentive and outstanding, but was O.K.... until after i signed the check with what I thought was an adequate tip. After I had to leave the table and she collected the bill, she looked at the bill and made a comment to my fiance (who's birthday it was) ""This isn't even 1%"". It was far beyond one percent and although a bit low for the total of the bill, I didn't feel she needed an outstanding tip. When I learned about this after the fact I WISHED that I had been the one she told.
I don't understand the entitlement she felt and the nerve she had to actually say something about a tip... something that is not mandatory as it was.
So all in all, we won't be going back to this location and I regret not being able to rip up the bill and leaving her absolutely nothing.
Pros: Awesome steak and beer
