I have had an IRS debt issue for many, many years (ever since a business partner decided to 'borrow' from my tax account, putting me perpetually behind). Eventually the debt snowballed to the point where I could only service it. I could make no headway on the principal. I don't remember how I found out about CTC (Google, I'm guessing) and bought their Offer In Compromise package. I did this after looking them up on the Better Business Bureau (there was only one complaint from several years before) because, frankly, even though the cost of using them is relatively low, I didn't have several thousand dollars of 'extra' money floating around. After paying them, I became very concerned that I'd been scammed. My father was suspicious that I'd been scammed. I was very worried that I'd thrown away a bunch of money. I hadn't heard from them in a week or two, and I was starting to think that this offer thing might be too good to be true. I called their office to check in on the process, knowing that I was new to it and this might be simple paranoia, or there was a sucker born every minute (me), and I'd just thrown away a bunch of money. Michelle Herrington was my representative. After expressing to her that I was feeling some trepidation about the whole thing she assured me that "this is what I do", and that she thought I was a "good candidate" for an offer. I felt better after our conversation, and that kept happening each time we spoke (because I was still paranoid sending a bunch of money off to some organization where I couldn't just walk in and assess the its legitimacy). Anyway, long story short, the offer process took significantly longer than I expected, and frankly, it was difficult making ends meet during that time. *However*, Michelle got a *phenomenal* result for me. She probably broke a record or something. You know how the advertisements say that you can "pay pennies on the dollar" of your debt? I paid, *literally* (I just calculated this), 1.1 cents for each dollar I owed. 1.1 cents per dollar I owed. I owed OVER 100k. You do the math. No, I'll do the math for you: I paid less than $2000. Now I just need to stay on top of things for 5 years. I hope this review is helpful. I couldn't recommend Michelle more, and I assume she's representative of the other agents of the company (actually, I did deal with one other person there when trying to get some documentation completed in a timely manner, and they were extremely helpful as well). She is diligent, hardworking, and will really go to the mat for you.
