Review content:
I have been attending Yoga West for about 3 1/2 years now & I consider myself very fortunate to have this ""wellspring of sanity""in my life. It is very close to my neighborhood in far West Houston/Katy and for a ""small suburban studio"" the level of service they offer is nothing short of amazing. There are many different classes, several levels and styles to choose from, all taught by wonderful Yoga Alliance certified teachers who hail from a variety of backgrounds (ALL are very welcoming & knowledgable - you'll be hard pressed to choose a favorite). \r

The best way I can tell you about the place is to say that you need to go ahead and try a class there! To accomplish this, it is best to go first to their website. There are usually specials for first-time clients so don't miss these - you may need to print out a coupon or whatever. (Cool!) Okay, so then you click on the ""Schedule and Fees"" tab and from there click on the link that says ""See this week's schedule of classes..."" (its purple). \r
\r
Next, choose a class that fits your schedule and suits your level and what you're looking for (note: the Basics/Beginner classes are good for people who've never tried yoga, but that doesn't always mean they're ""easy."" You can get a great workout!) Alright. So then, put on some stretchy/comfy clothes, wear shoes that are easy to kick off (since yoga is practiced barefoot), bring a mat if you have one (if not you can rent one at the studio for $3 or buy one there) and plan to show up about 10 -15 minutes before that class starts so you can get registered. (And don't forget your coupon!)\r

Once you've tried a class there you'll see what an amazing form of exercise yoga can be - it is perfect for relieving stress and calming the mind, all while working up a sweat in a way that is non-competetive, non-impact and very loving to the joints, the muscles, the spine and (of course) the soul. I feel the same way after a yoga class as I do after a really great massage - if not better. Seriously! Yoga is a perfect complement for other sports like cycling, running, weight-lifting, golf, etc. because it increases your strength and flexibility in ways you wouldn't believe until it starts happening to you. And then there are those of us who just might take up golf, cycling, running, weight-lifting, etc. in order to see how it improves our YOGA practice... LOL \r
\r
Either way - whoever you are, Yoga West is a wonderful place to begin to connect - or to re-connect - with the inner wisdom that your body holds as beautiful secrets just waiting for you to unfold. If you don't know what I'm talking about, trust me, you will. :D\r
\r
Hope to see you soon, I get there as often as I can. Namaste! Catherine\r
Pros: Great teachers & classes! A super community for ALL levels!
Cons: No full-time secretary so ""stopping by"" doesn't always work.
