Review content:
My wife wanted to surprise me for father’s day so she booked us for a visit to Chart House in Tampa, Florida. She is from New Jersey and we have visited the Chart House on the Hudson river many times and enjoyed our visit, so she wanted the father’s day to be a special day for all of us. To our surprise it was the worst dinner outing we have ever experienced! I spoke to the “master chef” at Chart House and the manager Brian. My wife and I chose from the “special menu” steak Oscar with crab meat and asparagus. What a joke! We received a heaping load of yellow mash potatoes with 3 small thin pieces of meat and 2 little pieces of crab shaving, 2 pieces of Asparagus all smothered in a yellow salty sauce. To top it all our salads were presented nicely, and then tossed, ½ the amount served while the rest was taken away! I told Brian his salad serving plate’s enamels were worn out. And his server “Lin” lacked smile or adequate service etiquettes. Although I gave him $50 tip, I thought of it as his final tip from us. We even had to teach him you don’t bring my grandson a 4 year old child his Sprite in a tall glass! Both the master chef and Brian genuinely apologized, and Brian said he is going to send me a card to have me return for a better service. Thanks for your generous gift card! I am returning it. I mentioned to Brian that this restaurant is located on a gold mind with a beautiful view and he should address these problems so that the customers would want to return again. There used to be another restaurant names Landry’s. I went there once and never returned due to similar experience, so I hate to see Chart house go out of business like Landry’s. Once again we enjoy the Chart House in New Jersey a lot. As we were leaving the restaurant, my wife asked me, “would you ever come back to this restaurant again?” I responded, absolutely not.
