Review content:
Imagine my dismay when I called after 2 weeks to inquire if my car was ready to discover the telephone estimate for repairs had gone from ""somewhere around $5500.00"" to $7800.00+. The manager was hostile and uninformative when questioned about this. When I asked about my parts , he said, we don't save parts.\r
I originally selected Polar Bear because they did both engine and air conditioning work. \r
After having my car towed there, I called several days later to inquire as to the problem I was told I needed a new engine. We also discussed the air conditioner not blowing very cold air. I was assured I would have an almost new car if I let them do the work and the manager said I could not go and buy a reliable used car for that money.\r
When I took the car in for it's 500 mile check,"" I was told everything was fine"" despite having been advised to fill up the gas tank when it registered half full or I would be out of gas. The gas gage worked before P\r
B put in the new engine.\r
Three days later I informed Polar Bear that the air conditioning was not cooling adequately and I was told "" we don't guarantee air conditioning when they have a leak. He said he had"" done me a courtesy by filling up the a/c. \r
I took my son in law to the shop to talk to the manager since he obviously treated women like idiots. He advised us to ""go to the bureau of automotive repairs."" Other professionals have said I was ""shafted by PB and indicated I had an excellent case against PB . I have not done so to date as I feel that slick willy will have all the technical jargon and lie like he did to my son in law despite me having proper documentation of the transactions and phone calls.\r
Subsequently, my fuel pump went out and I wonder if this was perhaps the reason the gas gage did not work after they ""fixed all the problems"" and gave me back an ""almost like new car""\r
Do not go to this shop. I would junk my car before I would let them touch it ever again.
Cons: Poor consumer skills, unprofessional, untimely,
