Review content:
Scuba West is an overpriced dive shop. They advertise many classes, but the open water dives take place in the sinkhole across the street. It's not spring fed so it's dark tannin filled water with a hydrogen sulfide layer, so it smells too. The owner, Jeff, is sociable, but disorganized and seems to have a lot of turnover in employees. They pack classes full if they can find the business and have trouble scheduling classes. If you want to take a class go somewhere else. Taking new divers into the sinkhole is the easiest way to make them hate diving. There are so many nicer places close by. Blue Grotto, Devils Den, The Gulf. If you are looking for a more advanced dive, Paradise Springs, Hospital Hole, Buford. These will all be much cheaper as well as much more enjoyable - no matter what type of diving you like.
