I recently went to the new Social House in the West Village and I must say I am very surprised. I had dinner downstairs (which is very nice) and was not expecting much..seeing how it is a pub. But the food was actually good, very good. Their buffalo calamari is amazing and their surf and turf was even better. The ambiance was very nice and the fireplace was a delightful addition....much better than the old Nikita. The waitstaff was very cordial and attentive. The manager was very gracious as he came by and initiated small talk with us. We asked him where we should continue our wonderful date and he suggested Clear. He was very helpful and was able to put our names on the VIP list which I thought was great customer service. I think his name was David or Daniel. As dinner progressed, more and more people seemed to flood the bars. Although I was with my girlfriend, I found myself staring at all the beautiful young women. I was shocked to see so many of Dallas' best under one roof. The only thing I was not to thrilled about was the crowd. It got so busy in there! It was partially my fault though, seeing how I was eating dinner at 11:00. Overall, I would recommend this to everyone...for dinner and to hang out. (Just make sure you eat dinner a little earlier than I did). Pros: Waitstaff, management, food Cons: A little too crowded after 12:00
