Review content:
My wife and I found this place tonight while trying to get our German food fix. We stumbled onto Nuernberg Brauhaus and it was a pleasant surprise. Being from Southern Indiana where there's a HUGE German population, this is the kind of place I've been longing for...a taste of home. They have Spaten on tap. They have the most wickedly awesome homemade krauts. Homemade bratwurst. Need I say any more? Although I can't confirm 100%, I believe this to be a 100% family organization with people who really seem to care and take pride in what they do.
There was live music playing, a guy who knew how to draw a beer behind the bar, the World Cup on the NICE flat screen TV behind the bar, and I was told 2 family members back in the kitchen who were responsible for whipping out the best German cuisine I've had since my great aunt Eldo (who spoke German as a 1st language...born in 1895) passed away when I was 6 years old.
Make sure you go and check these guys out. They actually give a damn about what they do and how they do it. Their prices are more than reasonable ($4 for a well drawn, fresh Spaten to go along with an out of this world spin on a burger or the best Jaeger Schnitzel I've had in the entire state of Texas). Please, please, please patronize them. In these tough financial times, it would be a true loss for ALL of Central Texas to lose such a wonderful hidden gem.
Pros: Homemade from scratch food, great beer, great people
Cons: Not the easiest to find
