Review content:
I went to Nuernberg Brauhaus its second day and we've returned at least 4 times. If we didn't travel so much, we'd go back more often, like at least weekly. We walked in with no expectations and were immediately surprised by the authenticity and variety of German dishes on the menu. There were several flavors of schnitzel and many popular German sides. I've tried an array of things and definitely find their Brats and sauerkraut to be top-notch and as good if not better than stuff I've had in Bavaria. Erdinger Kristal and Schneider Weisse bier are two of my favorites and the fact that they have them is awesome. At $5 and $6 it's a deal too since these are very expensive beers to buy even at Specs. Everyone we've met that works there is really nice. Having lived in Pflugerville for 5+ years now, I found it an absolute treat that this place opened!! On a final note, I've had a couple issues, but none that make me even considering changing my 5 star rating: 1. The goulash is to die for. We've had it three times. However, the last time it was notably too salty. This proves that it is hand made, but we just found it too salty last time. Of course, I still ate it all and will continue ordering it since it is plain awesome. The bartender (JD) recommended we try it initially, and we're glad he did. 2. One night the place was packed, it had a waiting/standing line. There was no bartender working that night and it caused excessively long waits. Sitting at the bar I saw first hand how difficult it was for two waitresses to tend to taking orders, managing people waiting in line, pouring beer (people order a lot of beer here) and cashing people out. We even found ourselves a couple times feeling the pain of our waitress. I'd have ordered more food/beer if the service was free, but I saw that as a one-time staffing issue (it was Friday night). I could see however that this would bother a lot of people, but I see it as true, authentic, slow European service. We'll be back, probably this weekend. The place is great and authentic, and this comes from someone who spends 2-3 weeks in Bavaria every year. Prost, Brian Pros: Solid beer selection, authentic food, in Pflugerville Cons: When crowded, service tends to be too European
