Review content:
The first thing I said to Dan was ""I am ready to throw this thing out the window"" and he calmly replied ""Don't do that."" He came the next day and took the thing away -- it was so slow my teeth hurt while I waited, it got hot and shut down, it was unresponsive for minutes, which we all know feels like hours when you are trying to get something done. Argh.
When he brought back my laptop 3 days later, it ran -- it runs! -- like a new machine. Sleek and obedient and quick and cool. All my stuff is still there. He reconnected my printers. I couldn't find a cable he needed to install one of them and he ran out and bought one! And just before he left there was a flicker on the desktop (I have for a long time suspected a graphics card problem) and I had to fight with him for him to let me pay him for the work he had done.
Dan is a perfectionist. I think this thing will last me another year or two (which was my goal) and when I do go out to get a new laptop, he will be at my side. What a find!
