First ALL positives (edited 2 July 2010):
BEST Yam Nua (beef salad) and
BEST Green (unripe) Mango Salad--I forgo the shrimp and ask for double salad. If you like tart, tangy, lightly sweet, and spicy in one place. This salad is IT. I can rarely find it in any Thai restaurant in the USA. In Thailand, it is served everywhere (except during ripe mango season).
Sliced/pared Green mango spears are sold by street vendors with a dry salt/red spice condiment. I never use this condiment. I like the crisp tartness of the green mango...like an incredible ""granny smith"" apple but different.
Som Tum Thai is green (unripe) papaya salad. This is good at CHADA...but since I have found this salad at other restaurants...I only order the items I cannot find elsewhere: Yam Ma Muang - Green Mango Salad.
My brother always orders the green curry and speaks very highly of it.
A good noodle dish: Pad See Yew (wide noodles)
I asked a West Sac. Thai lady; What Thai restaurant does she go to when she goes out? She says she does not...she makes all her favourites at home. BUT if she is not making her food at home; CHADA Thai is where she favours.
MY prior review disputing a CHADA negative review:
The 9/13/07 negative CHADA review written by ""Angelangja"" at 'Citysearch' APPEARS to have been written at the same time he/she wrote a POSITIVE review for the 'Taste of Thai' Restaurant which is steps away from CHADA Thai.
The MIEN ""Taste of Thai"" Restaurant Review was written by a simply educated Thai person OR someone attempting to be Thai/Asian. Definitely NOT a THAI graduate student.
MY conclusion: THIS was 'A''s way to disparage the competitor next door and therefore make CHADA THAI look bad.
GIVE CHADA THAI your business...it really has the best Authentic Thai Food in Sacramento.
Just one person's opinion, a farang who lived in Thailand for 18 months.
Pros: Fresh ingredients, clean, and prompt service.
Cons: Wish they offered Pad Pak Boong Fai Dang
