Most Authentic Thai Food in Sacramento 1/28/2010

First ALL positives (edited 2 July 2010): BEST Yam Nua (beef salad) and BEST Green (unripe) Mango Salad--I forgo the shrimp and ask for double salad. If you like tart, tangy, lightly sweet, and spicy in one place. This salad is IT. I can rarely find it in any Thai restaurant in the USA. In Thailand, it is served everywhere (except during ripe mango season). Sliced/pared Green mango spears are sold by street vendors with a dry salt/red spice condiment. I never use this condiment. I like the crisp tartness of the green mango...like an incredible ""granny smith"" apple but different. Som Tum Thai is green (unripe) papaya salad. This is good at CHADA...but since I have found this salad at other restaurants...I only order the items I cannot find elsewhere: Yam Ma Muang - Green Mango Salad. My brother always orders the green curry and speaks very highly of it. A good noodle dish: Pad See Yew (wide noodles) I asked a West Sac. Thai lady; What Thai restaurant does she go to when she goes out? She says she does not...she makes all her favourites at home. BUT if she is not making her food at home; CHADA Thai is where she favours. MY prior review disputing a CHADA negative review: The 9/13/07 negative CHADA review written by ""Angelangja"" at 'Citysearch' APPEARS to have been written at the same time he/she wrote a POSITIVE review for the 'Taste of Thai' Restaurant which is steps away from CHADA Thai. The MIEN ""Taste of Thai"" Restaurant Review was written by a simply educated Thai person OR someone attempting to be Thai/Asian. Definitely NOT a THAI graduate student. MY conclusion: THIS was 'A''s way to disparage the competitor next door and therefore make CHADA THAI look bad. GIVE CHADA THAI your business...it really has the best Authentic Thai Food in Sacramento. Just one person's opinion, a farang who lived in Thailand for 18 months. Pros: Fresh ingredients, clean, and prompt service. Cons: Wish they offered Pad Pak Boong Fai Dang more

Great service and great food makes a great restaurant! 2/24/2009

Before I start, Angela, why does it matter who owns the restaurant. It's very hateful to dislike a restaurant because of the owners' ethnicity. I've known Chinese people who make Japanese cuisine and Caucasian people who make Mexican cuisine. It really doesn't matter as long as the food tastes great. I hope that your stay in America will help you become less of a hateful and distasteful person.\r \r Back to the real review, I came to this restaurant with my family just the other night and I have to say that I was greeted with great service and seated quickly. The food we ordered came out delicious and was very satisfying. They were in good portions instead of the small sized portions the bigger restaurants give.\r \r Just the great service (something not all restaurants have ironically) earns this place 4 stars. The good food gives it the last star. If you want a place to have a nice, comfortable dinner with the family, or the friends without being overcrowded, I suggest this restaurant. Pros: Great service, great food, comfortable environment Cons: None off the top of my head more

Mien restaurant 9/13/2007

I'm international student from thailand, I come to the US for my master degree.I 'm looking for good thai restaurant in sac town because I really miss thai food. I went to chada restaurant before I went to taste of thai because I was hungry (a lot of customers at taste of thai)I don't want to wait long. I would say Chada thai disppointing. I order pad thai noodles. it is no taste at all. the tofu also sour and the noodles was hard it taste like uncook noodles. \r \r I saw the pumpkin curry on the special board and I have no idea what it look like actually a lot of items on the manu. I have been growing in thailand for 37 years, I have never seen anything like this.\r \r I had conversation with the owner who are Mien people. I have a question in my mind why Mien people open thai restaurant. Chada thai operate by Mien Family and hiring laos people as a chef. \r \r After talking to them, it is anwer all my questions why pumpkin curry \r have been on the board. I 'm a bit worry about Thai food in the future.\r \r My first time and my last time at Chada thai.\r \r If you like to have mien food or loas food, I sugest here."" more

quick food great service 5/30/2007

This one is located right next to Taste of Thai. They are usually more vacant compared to next door, but their service is excellent. The employees there are very courteous compared to taste of thai. Items are probably priced the same as next door..maybe slightly more expensive by a dollar or two. Everything I tried at this restaurant, I have enjoyed. I choose this restaurant anytime over to the one next door! Pros: delicious food, good price, variety of items on menu, prompt service Cons: none that I can think of more

Pretty good 7/8/2006

I had the green curry and pad thai. Both are good. I love the pad thai there because they don't overdo on the sauce. The prices are reasonable. Pros: nicely decorated place Cons: have to park in the neighborhood in the back, though i don't mind. more
