I found The Lost Parrot Cabins on line. It's website promised an artsy, funky, fun retreat; and that's exactly what it was!\r
Each room is an individual cabin. They're all decorated differently, but in the same style.... filled with interesting art pieces, and paintings. You can tramp through the Texas junipers and scrub oaks, take a dip in the pool, or just sit on your cabin porch and listen to the woods around you. The service was great! Friendly and genuine. Everything you need is there.\r
If you want suggestions or directions to adventures in town, they're readily given. If you're looking to get away, for a little while.... I've never found a better place to go.
Pros: Wonderful ambiance. Very romantic
Cons: A little far out from downtown, if you're mostly interested in the club scene/ night life
