Review content:
First, I would just like to say that this is my first time rating any type of service. I felt that it was impossible not to rate the poor service I experienced at this restaurant.
I was excited to go to Christies tonight, because I like the idea of supporting St. Johns. I was part of a group of 4 people. We went in and waited for at least 2-3 minutes at the front door for someone to at least acknowledge that we had entered the building. We just seated ourselves after a while. I would like to add that there were only 2 tables occupied at the time.
We all ordered burgers, my brother in law and myself ordered the inside out burger. When we received our food, we both cut our burger in half to discover a nasty surprise, both burgers were uncooked. I would like to add I don't mean slightly pink, I mean as if the ground beef had just been taken out of the package, center was red and still cold.
I thought the burger is huge so even though I think they should have took more care to cook it, I will just ask for them to recook it. After our server dropped off the plates, she didn't even bother to ask if I or anyone else would like more water or anything else. I had to wave her down to get more water and to get the burgers recooked.
The server didn't even apologize for the burgers being red and uncooked. She simply said, they are thick burgers after all. (Is that supposed to make me feel better?) So she takes back the burgers. A few minutes later, we receive the burgers again. I check my burger to see if the burger is actually cooked. The patty was cooked for the most part except some areas that were still red and cold. I proceeded to ask the server for them to burn the meat, extremely well done.
The server takes back the plate and I would also like to add that the patty had been cut in half as well as the bun so when they recooked it they just took the patty off of the bun and ""cooked"" it some more and gave it back. She brings back the burger the last time, the patty and the bun were pretty much just a wreck. I assembled my burger and it seemed pretty well cooked at this time. I began to finally eat my burger. I got about 3/4 complete when I realized it was still partially uncooked. ( I mean how can you screw up burnt?)
So I just left the last portion of the burger. Also by the time my plate had been shuffled back and forth to and from the kitchen, my fries were cold. The fries weren't really that tasty anyway so I left them there as well. We were given the check without even an (I'm sorry that your food could have poisoned you or anything) I didn't ask for the burgers to be comped, but I would think since the burgers were $9.95 each, they could have at a minimum took care of at least one. We left there feeling so dissatisfied that our table didn't leave a tip, which is big, because we always leave a tip.
So to sum up the story unless you want your insides on the outside of you I recommend you not get the inside out burger or at least think twice before coming to this restaurant.
Pros: It has curb appeal?
Cons: Food and Service
