Don't be fooled by all the five star reviews. This is not one of the great Italian places in the city. It's a pleasant local joint that serves tasty but forgettable food. Examples? The Bolognese sauce is the ground beef with tomato sauce and pepper -- the sauce you always get at restaurants that can't be bothered to stew the meat and tomatoes for hours and hours until they combine into something that is neither liquid nor solid. The ground beef Bolognese sauce here is fine, but proper Bolognese sauce is transcendent. And if you doubt the gulf is as large as I say, go to Babbo and try their Bolognese sauce. But that's not all. I asked for a veal chop medium rare and it came medium well. It's an easy mistake. Veal is hard to cook. The difference between medium rare and medium well is about 90 seconds, but it's a mistake that rarely happens at truly top places. The service is also a bit slow. All this is not to say you shouldn't give TT a try. It's just to say this place is not some magical spot.
