The menu is enticing and ambitious. The location and space are beautiful-- especially the back garden. the service (apart from the attentive and careful bar service) is miserable. We were seated in the back garden in anticipation of a fantastic dinner, after perusing the menu while we waited for a table. A half hour after ordering, a waitress (not ours) came to our table and told us that ""there had been a computer malfunction"" and she needed to take our order again. It happens, of course, but is usually compensated by complimentary appetizers or drinks OR an apology-- at the minimum. Nothing. An hour after we RE-placed our order, we were served our appetizers: an heirloom tomato salad with ricotta ($10), which consisted of the fibrous top of an heirloom tomato with ricotta lumped on top, and a barely existant olive oil and basil drizzle. My husband had the short-rib ravioli, which was good.\r \r Another 1/2 hour later, we were served our main courses-- watching all other tables get served around us, that had been seated after we had arrived-- by which time we were so annoyed we had no appetite. My husband had asked that his salmon be served medium-rare: it was well-done and dry. My main course (which was another appetizer-- salmon tartar-- was served with guacamole and nothing to eat it with...a cracker or chips would have been nice. It was piled with a messy lump of cilantro which served no purpose.\r \r We never got an apology for the dismal service. Our server avoided us at every opportunity, and was surly and non-responsive. For such an expensive meal, I was very disappointed on every level. I do not recommend this place. For a fantastic meal in this area, go to Henry's End--just up the street-- for gracious service and a fine dining experience. Pros: beautiful back garden Cons: bad service, bad food.
