Review content:
My wife and I have been coming to Bristol for a couple years, but we'd always come at times Persimmon was closed. Last night, 04/08/2010, we finally timed it for dinner. Persimmon looked like a pleasant little place and we always wanted to try it.\r \r What we found was a major gem. I read the other reviews and although it's true that Persimmon isn’t a Brazilian steakhouse or a buffet, the quantity of food was fine.\r \r My wife and I ordered to vegetable appetizers, two glasses of wine, 2 entrees, and shared a desert. The cost of our meal was around $100. The appetizers were made from local produce and were complex combinations of tastes. For entrées, I had the lamb and my wife had the halibut. Like the appetizers, they were spectacular.\r \r Persimmon doesn't have a desert chef and they don't need one. Our desert was made by the executive chef and owner and it was so good it practically put my wife in a coma. I'm not a desert eater, but I thought our desert, a chocolate mousse cake, was amazing.\r \r There is no way I can say enough about this wonderful restaurant. The food, the décor, the service, and the food were first rate…more than first rate. If I ever have a special occasion where Bristol RI is in range, Persimmon will always be my first choice.\r Pros: Nice setting, great atmosphere, great service, food
