I bought $1000+ worth of outdoor furniture here today, and it was the WORST experience, ever! First, there was no one in the display area to help me. Secondly, when I asked for help, they acted as if they couldn't be bothered... I had to wait several minutes before the Garden Dept supervisor, Trish, communicated with Kimmie (working in Customer Service, of all places!) about what to do to get the chaise lounge I wanted, in addition to the rest of the furniture. Kimmie was obviously in over her head, or was a new hire, b/c she couldn't do anything without being on the phone to Trish. I swiped my card, signed the slip, and asked about delivery - that's when the real fireworks began. Suffice to say that altho Trish is a dept head, she has zero power to negotiate (unlike Kevin the Store Manager who saved the day). I think in this current economic climate that store managers need to emphasize at a staff meeting just how many choices of Big Box stores customers like me have, and that it really does come down to how well one is treated. Me, I'll shop Lowe's from now on. Pros: had what I wanted Cons: TERRIBLE customer service!
