Review content:
Because of my husband's recent deployment to Iraq, we decided it best that I relocate back to Maryland from Arizona to take back my old job. I chose Oasis as our mover...and NEVER WILL AGAIN.\r
\r
Our move was set to take place on either 9/27 or 2/28. When you set up the move, you're given a 2-day window for the truck to show up.\r
\r
First problem: moving insurance. Since we hadn't purchased it at least 48 hours before the move due to circumstances beyond our control, we spoke to Nina at Oasis (no longer with the company) and she said we could still purchase it, just from a different company than what Oasis normally recommends. She emailed us the paperwork which we were supposed to fill out and fax back to her. It turned out to be the wrong paperwork. My husband called the insurance company directly and they emailed us the correct paperwork, told us to fill it out and fax it back to them, which we did Wednesday afternoon the 26th. \r
\r
Second problem: we were supposed to receive a phonecall from the trucker himself between 5:30 and 6:30PM Wednesday to give us an ETA. We never got one. We had to call Oasis the following morning (Thursday) and were then told the trucker would be arriving Friday afternoon between 2 and 4PM.\r
\r
A Mayflower truck arrived Friday at 3:30PM. Third problem: the driver's helper spoke zero English, the driver spoke lousy English, and he brought a stack of paperwork with him that we had not been told about by Oasis. Driver could not adequately explain the paperwork so that I was confident in what I was signing. I had 3 firearms to ship which Nina had told me they could so long as they were emptied of their ammo and their serial numbers and makes were recorded. When I pointed them out to the driver, he said they couldn't ship them because of DTA laws. Caused another inconvenience. Movers were at the house until 10:30PM and broke a few of our things.\r
