Review content:
My boyfriend and I went into Machiatto Expresso Bad one rainy day to get some coffee and breakfast. I live in the neighborhood and had heard great things about it. While I agree I would LOVE to have one of these instead of Star-yucks on the corner, I didn't quite understand the hype. The staff was talking really loud when it was such a small, quiet place (about wanting to go home I might add). When I ordered, the barista acted like there was a huge line in back of me when there was no one. He didn't even let me get in that I wanted a cheese danish. I had to ask 3 times for it. My boyfriend's bagel looked good and fresh, and the organic coffee was OK...a little over roasted. My cheese danish was delicious, I just wish, like the rest of their pasteries, save the croissants, it wasn't so small! I guess I like my pastries on the big side, but I'm a 5'7 115 pound girl and can't imagine someone bigger and hungrier than me being satisfied with those tiny pastries! Then again, I guess Machiatto approaches them as something to enjoy with their coffee rather than to fill you up, which in this day and age is admirable.
Pros: Tasty food, good coffee, quiet atmosphere
Cons: Rushed service, tiny pastries!
