Here is a letter I just wrote to Executive Restoration. Please read if you're considering having someone rip out walls to find a leak.
Dear David,
I'd like to thank you so much for your attention to detail, your professionalism and your ability to diagnose a problem that so many have failed to diagnose.
In May of 2008 there was a hail storm in my neighborhood. Unbeknownst to me, I incurred damage to my roof and was not aware of the damage until early 2010. The only thing I did notice was that some water damage showed up in the floor and vanity cabinet of my bathroom in the early summer of 2008. The damage was the worst was near the toilet, so I had a plumber come in and reseal the toilet, yet the problem persisted. By the summer of 2008 I was diagnosed with asthma and other breathing difficulties that doctors had trouble diagnosing. By the fall I had to go on disability and have only been able to work sporadically since that time.
Once my neighborhood became aware of the hail damage, we all began having our roofs replaced – me included. My insurance inspector said that the damage to the bathroom was unrelated to my roof issue. He suspected the leak was coming from the concrete slab and suggested I call a plumber. I knew that insurance would only cover a burst pipe and not a leaking one. Fearing the worst, I delayed calling. When mold began growing on my vanity, I knew something needed to be done, so I called Executive Restoration. The owner, David thoroughly explained the process to me over the phone. Robert was immediately sent over and through the use of infared scanning and a thorough inspection, he was able to clearly see what the insurance inspector, the plumber and the roofer had missed. The damage was from the roof! The water had traveled through the interior of the wall and down the outside of a pipe to the bathroom floor. There was no plumbing issue at all! Thank God I didn't waste money having a plumber come in and rip out walls and flooring to find nothing.
I will forever be grateful to Executive Restoration for resolving a problem that persisted for two years. I can now look forward to regaining my health and not having to worry about paying for thousands of dollars worth of damage to my home. Thank you, Executive Restoration! You are awesome!
With gratitude,
Sherry Blevins
