Decided to try this local restaurant. Interior is pleasant and menu is quite varied. While waiting for our meal the owner brought over 2 tiny tea cups with some very strange tea. Undrinkable in my opinion. Made a point of telling the waiter that one person in our party had food allergies and waiter helped us pick out menu items that were free of fish sauce, sea salt, and seaweed. Or so we thought. The dinner came with soup and when it arrived at the table, I asked what was in the soup, assuming it was spinach or kale on top. Turns out it was seaweed. This after all the careful planning. So the waiter immediately took it away and when asked if my friend could have a different soup he offered Won ton soup. Eventually the meal arrived and it was adequate but nothing I would need to come back for.. When we got the bill, guess what. Charged for the won ton soup even though soup was part of the meal. Also, charged for the tea that we did not ask for. When we talked to the waiter he reluctantly removed the overcharges. But told us we should have known that the won ton soup was an additional charge. Never mind that he almost caused an allergic reaction. Will never return. Felt like we were being scammed. It was his job to tell us that substitutions were extra. Cons: overcharging, unfriendly
