Gold's Gym will tell you what you want to hear to get you to join but they will not keep their word to any of it. It was broken promise after another. We were told we could cancel or freeze our account with no problem, that was not the case. One of the reasons we signed up with Gold's is they told us they had gym's in Ohio (where we were from). When we would visit or work in Ohio we were unable to use our membership due to the fact all of the Gold's gyms had been bought by a different company. They had us sign up for a great trainer program. Our schedule didn't work with our trainer's but that doesn't matter. We stopped going to the trainer telling her it was not working out and she also agreed on this. We finally came up with the money ($1000) to cancel our account in full. Then after everything was paid in full on both accounts (for my wife and I)we received a call a month later from Gold's asking for $4000 for our ""Trainer"", that we had not had a session with since 2008. Why would we be expected to pay for a service they can't provide, our trainers schedule was always full??? We were unable to go to the gym to train regularly during the midweek midday time slots we were being offered by our trainer. This company is awful, they are not honest up front about anything. They make it sound as if everything will be very simple and painless to cancel your membership. We asked a lot of questions about this having just moved from out of state. It is very odd they did not say a word about this $4000 bill when I was cancelling and paying my account in full. I asked over and over again is that all to the account rep, wanting to finally be finished with Gold's Gym. I also received a paid in full and your account is closed email from gold's gym. So are they looking for more money. How can Gold's Gym charge for training sessions that never took place in a gym I never returned to. All with a trainer who was not as readily available as they made it seem in the initial sales pitch. Shame on Gold's Gym. Don't make the same mistake we did and step foot into a Gold's Gym.
