Review content:
All Creatures could be a fantastic vet hospital if they would lose the concern over making every cent they can off of clients. When you call on the phone, they give you a reasonable estimate, but then when you pay your bill there are all of these extra charges for little things like ear cleaning, nail trim, IV pump use, etc...etc...etc...If you are taking a pet in for something as simple as a spay or neuter, be prepared for the surgery team to belittle you for not agreeing to have pre-surgery bloodwork run as well as an IV and fluids during the procedure. If you attempt to sign the form declining these added services, you will receive a lecture about how you are a bad owner because you are putting your pet at risk.\r
It seems that the concern is more about how much they can make than actually helping pets. It is sad that many vet hospitals have fallen into this money trap. I miss the old days when you actually felt that vets cared and were not just out to make money off of you and your pet. I can understand the need for vets to make a living and pay their bills, but since when is it right to get rich off of sick pets and owners who care?\r
Another issue with this clinic is the wait. Even with an appointment, you will have a long wait to be put in a room and then you will have an even longer wait to see a doctor. In the mean time, a tech who seems to know nothing will come in and ask a bunch of questions...I am not sure why as the doctor will later come in and ask the same questions. The wait is especially frustrating when you have a pet such as mine who is terrified to be at the vet in the first place. \r
The receptionists are for the most part cold and do not seem very well educated. A few are just plain lazy and won't even get off of their chair for anything.\r
I am hoping that there are some vets out there who still care about more than just money. I would advise you to seek one of those veterinary hospitals out for your pet's care.
Pros: open great hours, ability to treat many problems
Cons: overbilling for services, feel like a number, uncaring
