I did my homework first on the BBB Accredited website.\r
I looked for local companies with A+ ratings, had been in business for some time, had zero customer complaints, and had a website.\r
\r
There were a handful out there and I had them all provide estimates. All the bids were within a few hundred dollars of each other. KFS won my bid for a few reasons:\r
\r
1. They went to bat with the insurance company on my behalf. I didn't have to ask. When I spoke to the other roofing contractors about why they didn't get my bid, their response was ""we could have done that"". The point is, why do I have to ask?\r
\r
2. The contract was contingent on successful negotiation with the insurance company. While it didn't turn out in my favor with the insurance, the extra effort KFS took told me they were someone I wanted to work with.\r
\r
3. I had some pretty nasty roof damage, and before I had agreed to any contract signing, they had someone out covering my roof to avoid further damage.\r
\r
4. They always answered the telephone. There was no leaving of messages once.\r
\r
The roofing materials arrived 1 day before the roofing TEAM did. There was no week or two wait with several pallets in my drive or on my lawn. When I say team, there had to be 6 or 7 guys knocking out my roof. Everything was stripped, re-roofed, and completely cleaned up in less than a day.\r
\r
I would highly recommend this company for anyone looking for a roofing contractor. They did an awesome, awesome job.
