MEDICATION OVERDOSE GIVEN!!!!!!! i took my dog in on a friday and she was diagnosed with an infection and given a prescription to be picked up later. when i came back to get it, the vet tech watched me give my dog the dosage written on the bottle-1 pill. over the weekend my dog had a severe reaction and i found out that the vet tech had written the wrong dosage. she was suppose to get only 1/2 pill 2x a day!! i called to report this horrible mistake on mon and when i called i was asked why i wanted to speak to the dr. when i told the receptionist, the vet tech came on the line instead. when i said i needed to speak to the dr. about her mistake, she told me that i had already had my visit with the dr. and if i wanted to speak with her, i would have to make another appt. and pay for it. clearly hoping not to get found out. i insisted and was told the dr. would call later. when she did, i said i am sure you want to know about this as it could be a fatal mistake next time. she was defensive and said that EVERY vets and doctors office makes prescription mistakes-it happens all the time. she was shockingly non-caring about it. this is not the kind of mistake an animal owner can tolerate and i felt it important enough to write this for anyone else considering going here.
