Review content:
My husband and I are new divers and Key West was going to be our first dive after our certification dives. We booked our dives on the internet through a company called key west dive center. com but later found out that they are a call center( not even in Key West). We were told that there would be a divemaster leading the dives and were very unhappy when we were told by the actual dive shop that the dives are non-guided. Reluctantly, we still went on the dives and were very impressed. The reef sites we went to were very shallow, only 30 feet or less. The divemasters breifing though long, was very informative and explained exactly how to navigate teh site, lost scenarios and they were very concious of the reef and how to not touch it. We saw everything we wanted to see, sharks, stingrays, eels and lots and lots of fish. The coral didnt look that good but we were told that the hurricanes had destroyed alot of the coral. But there was still alot of fish to see. We did both dives by ourselves and felt confident enough to do their morning wreck dive which is deeper. The next day we did Joes Tug and they set up a line so we could get to the wreck. The divemaster gave another indepth briefing on the wreck, the history and how to navigate with safety stop too. We will be going back to Key West next year and want to get our Advanced course with them. \r
The only problems were with the other dive shop or reservation agent as they are not really a dive shop. We should have just gone directly with Southpoint Divers. The toilet was broken when we were on the boat that day too.
Pros: Very professional crew, nice boat. convenient location
Cons: go direct. avoid the middleman websites
