My wife and I tried On the Menu for the first time using a dining certificate from SouthFlorida365.com. I presented the certificate to the waiter upon entering. My wife and I ordered the scallops; since she wasn't sure if she would like the turnip side, she asked if she could substitute pasta. The waiter, after having said that the chef does not like to substitute, determined that she could substitute pasta. The pasta arrived with the dish, with no sauce. There were also no turnips. The meal was decent, although a little expensive ($24.00) for the portion (4 scallops) received. When we got the bill, there was a $5.00 charge for the pasta. I questioned it and a lady (manager, owner?) came over. She said that we got $40.00 off the meal and shouldn't be concerned about paying an extra $5.00. She then, in a very condescending manner, started to explain to me how I should handle using certificates in a restaurant. This is when I told her not to worry about it, we would NEVER be coming back.
