Review content:
I made the mistake of getting a muffler from this Meineke, with lifetime warranty. When I brought my car back to get the muffler replaced, I was told that my car needed $700 of work. I immediately took it to another garage for a second opinion, and they saw the exact same problems, but were shocked at the $700 estimate. They fixed all of the problems (except the muffler itself because I still wanted to get my ""free"" muffler under the warranty) for $365. So, knowing nothing needed replacement except the muffler itself, I took it back to Meineke. They said that the muffler would cost $190 to replace, even under warranty! They said that if you replace the muffler, you automatically have to replace the surrounding pipes because their mufflers are ""one piece,"" and they already have the extra, unnecessary pipes attached to the muffler. They said they cannot be separated, and that I would have to pay for the extra pieces, even though I didn't need them. I asked if it would be possible to order a muffler, just a muffler, not connected to anything else, and have that installed. They said it would take TWO WEEKS to get just a plain old muffler for my car, a Toyota Camry. Two weeks? This is Chicago! They were just trying to force me to buy the parts i didn't need. I left without getting a muffler, and I am waiting for them to call when they finally get a muffler for my car. I'm not holding my breath. I'm sure, even though the muffler is supposed to be ""free"" under the warranty, they'll find something to charge me over $100 for.
