I was waiting for my car to be smogged and another customer drove in. An elderly lady complaining about her car making a noise. She said it was rattling from the front as she drove and another mechanic told her it needed an axle. The mechanic that was doing my smog told her to drive forward, and then back up again. He then pulled off the hub cap and took it into the shop. A minute later he returned and put it back on, and told her to pull forward and back again. Noise was gone. He told her the cap just needed to be tightened, and wished her a good day. A large amount of mechanics would have milked that lady for an axle job without flinching. He came back to finish my smog, which failed. Seeing how honest he was with the lady I left my car the next day and he was able to get it to pass smog by doing a simple tuneup and replacing a few hoses. That was years ago and I have dealt with them since and have never been let down nor felt ripped off.
