I have had nothing but a great experience with Ryan Imported in Northampton. I've been bringing my car there for two years (so far I've had them do the exhaust, put on a new head, and replace the fuel system as well as all the regular maintenance) and trust them implicitly. The turnaround time has always been incredibly quick, even on short notice, and they've worked around my schedule without complaint. Joe has stayed late to walk me through the work: with a car as difficult and with as many intangibles as mine (it's a '71 Mini Cooper), I really appreciate being in the loop and knowing I'm not being taken advantage of. The customer service has also always been exceptional.
I know some seem to find the cost excessive, and I guess I have a little trouble sympathizing. Paying a little bit more to get a job done well, using the best parts and with the most experience, hardly seems like a trade-off to me. I do a little work on the car myself (oil changes, fan belts, brakes - the easy stuff), and I've spoken with guys at most of the major parts suppliers in the area - they've been nothing but complimentary about Ryan Imported. There's a reason the shop has been around so long - they do great work.
