I wish I had come online and read this review because right now at present I have hired Larry Carr to do work for me and EVERYTHING that ""MandieJ"" has stated in the review is happening to me right now. I now realize the signs I was picking up was true. I did ask for references and he stated his work speaks for himself instead of giving me references he showed me pictures. My first mistake. He lies and says one thing then lies and says he did not say it. I have paid him most of his money and he still has not completed the work. He was suppose to come by today and I had to call him to see where he was and he stated he was sick. He has also yelled and raised his voice with me and threatened to call his lawyer, and put a lien against my home too. Which I knew he was lying there too because it takes money to do that and he was about to pay for a lawyer and court fees for a lien. At present he still has work to complete on my home so I will see if it gets done. I am so disappointed in ServiceMagic because as much as I am no the internet the only reason I did not do a search on DryWall Masters is because I too believed that Servicemagic had done what they said they had done which is to research these contractors and make sure they were okay. It is so sad that Larry Carr feels he has to cheat people to get money. Just like the other reviewer we both were ready to pay him for the work but Larry does not have his act together. He is very unprofessional and he lies. He is not the person you want in your home doing any work.
