Review content:
We've been taking our dogs to Dr. Wadhwani @ Wells Branch for years, long enough that we've needed her help to get thru the heartbreak of two euthanasia. We keep going back despite that we moved out of the area 3 years ago to Cedar Park, primarily because of our experience with Dr. W during those tough emotional times.
Chevy Chase was a wonderful mutt, an odd looking mutation-mix of Corgie(?) w/ the pea-scooping jaw of some kind of bulldog breed; a true blue all-American ""Heinz 57"". He was absolutely useless yet adorable. Chevy lived an extraordinarily long time. He was abandoned in the Chevy Chase office complex @ 183 & I-35 in June 1987 (hence the obvious name choice) and lived an estimated 18-19 years. 2 years before passing we were ready to put him down - he was miserable, in obvious discomfort. But the Dr. found the true reason - bad teeth. All my fault as up to then I had no idea about canine dental health. The remedy was expensive but easily the best last gift we could give. After dental repairs he was like a pup again for many months. We felt it was the best money we ever spent on a beloved pet.
When it was finally Chevy's time, Dr. Wadhwani was amazing. In her line of work it should have been easy to lose her ability to empathize with the loss of a pet. Yet she was obviously caring and compassionate while remaining helpful & professional.
The second time around, with good 'ol Jakeyboy (another classic American Heinz 57) she was again caring and gentle, both with our sweet old boy and his owners.
There are many other reasons & experiences that count toward our loyalty to Dr. Wadhwani & WBP&B, but these two devastating episodes are all we need to keep making the trip to her clinic. She's more than our vet, she's a family member. We always make sure we hug her neck before we leave.
