Review content:
I'm a local (Studio City) and was looking for a great Italian place in the 'hood. Miceli's is nice, but too cliched. Giorgio's is good, but I got tired of fighting for parking. Then I found the Italian jewel: Mezzo Mondo. Run by Italians, this place has the mood and food of places I visited while in Florence. Friendly playful servers escort thinly shaved carpaccio to your table. Fresh soft gnocchi can be ordered with any sauce (I love the decadence of Alfredo with this), and cold water paired with delicious wines wash it all down and leave you in a nice Italian haze. Give it a try -- you won't be sorry! Pros: Tons of street parking, charming staff, great food Cons: Sidewalk tables are right on Ventura (noisy)
