I guess I can't really review the food but the waitress was really rude. Sat me down and two minutes later told me restaurant was all reserved. Then told me to follow her after I asked ""well can I get an order to go?"" and she said again it was all reserved (there were three people total in the restaurant on a Thursday night). I asked her if there was a problem and she took me to the BACK entrance and kicked me out. They won't be getting a DIME from me! Ever! more

Nice Italian Joint in the Valley! 2/9/2010

We went to Mezzomondo in Studio City for the first time today. The food was delicious and I appreciated the portions they served. It was just right. The Four O Five Salad was very refreshing! The restaurant owned and operated by a couple has a warm interior, great service, and good food. We ordered all vegetarian dishes, mainly pasta. The Arrabiata sauce was very tasty and spicy. Today was my husband's birthday and they made it special for us. We are sure to revisit the place sometime soon! more

Attentive and friendly service. Great house Chianti and simple, reasonably sized, tasty dishes. The price is right for what you are getting. more

Great food, great experience! 2/9/2009

We went there for the first time last week, and will be back! Great selection of food, homemade pastas, friendly staff. The setting was quite intimate, parking on Ventura was pretty open around 8pm. Pros: Everything seemed fresh, small and intimate Cons: Service was good, but would had to continously pour our own wine, dropped check early more

I agree with the other positive things I've read here about Mezzo Mundo. IT's a great place to eat, real authentic fresh food, with a good wine list and friendly staff. I've been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. more

Our Favorite Italian 7/6/2007

I?ve been to Italy several times, and even attended cooking schools there. I have yet to find a restaurant in the US that reminds me as much of Italy as Mezzo Mondo does. My husband and I eat here regularly and always have excellent meals ? in fact, it?s our favorite Italian restaurant outside of Italy. It has a nice open atmosphere, but is not overly loud as many LA restaurants tend to be. While it?s not inexpensive, for LA the prices are fair for the quality and service you receive, and they have many dishes I go back for over and over again. My favorite at the moment is the home made spinach ravioli in sage butter sauce? what a TREAT! They have a nice wine selection and the owner and his wife are always gracious. You won?t go wrong here. Pros: Great food, nice atmosphere, good wine, good hosts. Cons: Parking can be a challenge on Ventura blvd. more

Great service, outstanding fresh food 8/20/2006

I'm a local (Studio City) and was looking for a great Italian place in the 'hood. Miceli's is nice, but too cliched. Giorgio's is good, but I got tired of fighting for parking. Then I found the Italian jewel: Mezzo Mondo. Run by Italians, this place has the mood and food of places I visited while in Florence. Friendly playful servers escort thinly shaved carpaccio to your table. Fresh soft gnocchi can be ordered with any sauce (I love the decadence of Alfredo with this), and cold water paired with delicious wines wash it all down and leave you in a nice Italian haze. Give it a try -- you won't be sorry! Pros: Tons of street parking, charming staff, great food Cons: Sidewalk tables are right on Ventura (noisy) more
