Review content:
Living near the place, I've visited it twice in the last couple of weeks for breakfast. All in all, it's not a bad place. The food is pretty good but pricey -- but then again the price of food has gone up quite a bit (April 2008). Service was great but, for the most part, I was the only customer in the place. There's great ambiance in the place. They have a lot of conversational items in glass cases. \r
\r
My main ""beef"" with the place isn't really their fault. It's the lack of customers that they have. This is a downtown Galveston problem however. When compared to other towns and cities, the Galveston downtown area is ""dead"" -- especially on the weekdays. Most eating establishments in the area don't seem to have much of a clientele and I wonder how they can afford to stay in business. Places like Star are open in the morning and in the early afternoon. But as soon as the lunch ""crowd"" has left they ""close up shop"". \r
\r
So tourists, if you visit the area and are staying downtown, stop by this place. You won't be disappointed.
Pros: Service, Ambiance
Cons: Prices, Lack of fellow customers
