I saw Jeremy Custeau at a home show representing Done Right Services (as the ""Owner""), and liked his product, so I gave him my name and number at the show. He never called (I should have taken the hint!). I called him and made an appointment for an estimate, and he said he could do the crack repair the same day as the estimate, if I liked the estimate. When he got here, he said he couldn't do the repair that day cause he had to grind down the wall first, and he didn't have his grinder with him (we previously talked about the condition of the wall, but yet he came unprepared to do the work... hint #2), plus he said we had to take out studs and plumbing for baseboard heat to use the grinder cause it was so big (ya think he could have told me that before he came for the estimate!). Before he left, he wanted a deposit of $200 to come back and do the work. The total for the job would be $600. I paid him the deposit cause getting scammed was the last thing on my mind, since I saw only good reviews when I checked him out on Angie's List. Well, the day he was scheduled to fix the crack arrived, and I got a call around 9am saying he was tied up at another job and could not be here until 1pm. I thanked him for letting me know, and said I'd see him at 1pm. He never showed. He never called. It's been three days, and I still haven't heard from him. I sent him an email yesterday to ask why, since I figured there was a small chance he might have been in a car accident or something, but I got no response to my email. Today I sent him an email asking for my deposit back. Looks like Citysearch is the only service you can trust to get the real scoop on a contractor! I'm gonna try to get this review on Angie's List too, and we'll see if it ever gets ""approved"" for publishing.
