Does not honor 30 year ""warranty."" Heard from another customer this happened to -- basement leaked and Jeremy blew him off -- who read my review.
My basement flooded in the heavy rains of spring 2010. Basements flooded all over the state, and it would have taken months to even get an estimate from a traditional waterproofing company that installs french drains. I called Done Right Services, and when Jeremy Custeau, the owner, heard I lived in Brookline, he came immediately.
Jeremy uses a polymer that he claims creates an impermeable waterproof seal, which, unlike traditional methods, prevents water from coming in thereby making it unnecessary to pump it out. He gave me an estimate of $15,000 to power wash and point my foundation, and then apply his waterproof seal to the floors and walls. He offers a 30 year warranty against flooding. He was willing to start work on my basement the following week. I was taken aback at the price, but nonetheless sold. Jeremy knocked down the interior basement walls, stripped off the sheetrock on the outer walls, ripped out the heating, and left the electrical outlets dangling. They power washed, filled in cracks in the foundation, and applied their ""waterproof seal."" All the work was done on the interior (I have since heard that foundation work needs to be on the exterior.) I was left with a completely gutted basement and a 30 year warranty against flooding.
Four different contractors who gave me bids on renovations shook their heads with disbelief that the thin coat of polymer on the walls and ceiling would actually prevent water from coming in. I spent $80,000 to reconstruct the basement!
Jeremy came back in after the renovations and charged me an additional $1,200 to reseal the places where the seal was chipped (and it chipped all over from very little impact!) He told me that the actual price was $1,800 but he was giving me a ""discount."" The work took something like half an hour! I paid (unhappily) to insure my warranty.
In August of 2011 in moderately heavy rain, my basement started flooding in the same, now ""sealed"" place it came in originally.
I emailed Jeremy immediately and got no response. Then I emailed him several days later and again got no response. I waited more than a week. Then I posted a negative review of him on Angie's list and that got his attention immediately!!
First Jeremy said that he hadn't received my emails. Later, he said that his company was too small to respond to client emails and that I should have called him to develop a ""game plan."" Now he is saying that since I posted negative reviews personally attacking him on the internet, he can no longer work with me.
I'm left with an expensively finished basement that floods in heavy rains. I'm going to have to shell out more money to get a system that works. I have no desire to call Jeremy in to ""fix"" the problem, because I have no faith in him or his methods.
I called Jeremy a ""con man"" in my original review, which is only my opinion based on my experience and could be construed as slander. I leave anyone who has had the patience to read about my experience with him and his company to draw their own conclusions.
