Businiess name:  Maria's Mexican Restaurant

Review content:
We went to Maria's on a Wednesday night, hoping the crowds would be less than on the weekends. We were seated quickly and brought a basket of freshly baked chips and salsa. We each ordered a margarita and were both pleased with the flavor. It was average size at best. I ordered fajitas and my date ordered a three item combo. My ""fajita"" was a grilled chicken breast served over very bland Mexican rice and a cheese enchilada. When I asked the waitress if she brought me the correct meal, she said ""yes, this is the Mexican fajita, you are thinking of the sizling fajita."" So basically, there was no peppers or onions, no sides of salsa/sour cream/guacamole or any type of sauce. Just a very dry piece of grilled chicken. I asked for a flour tortilla so I could at least try to salvage my disappointing meal. The cheese enchillada was VERY bland and tasted like it was heated in a microwave. It was rubbery and awful. Couldn't eat it. My date had a burito that had nothing but some chopped meat in it - no other cheese or sauce. Just ground meat rolled in a flour tortilla. His taco was greasy and filled with mostly lettuce. He had the same problem with his enchillada as mine. Bland. No flavor and rubbery. \r The owner's daughter blamed it on her regular family members not being in the kitchen to cook. Poor response. No offer to comp any of our meal. We both barely finished half of our meal. VERY disappointing food. I'm not sure if the other people who left a positive recommendation ate at the same place we did.\r By the way, our final bill was $43 for two meals and two margaritas. A lot of money spent and we still had to stop at a pub on our way home for some food! Pros: Authentic Mexican decorations - service was average Cons: VERY bad food. No flavor. High prices.
